* "Antiseptics and disinfectants are both widely used to control infections. They kill microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi using chemicals called biocides. Disinfectants are used to kill germs on nonliving surfaces. Antiseptics kill microorganisms on the skin".
Isopropyl alcohol acts within a few seconds after applying it. Dettol is extremely effective but takes 5 minutes to act after it's application .Both can be used as either disinfectants or antiseptic depending on their concentration and composition.
Isopropyl alcohol must never be drank as it is poisonous IF TAKEN INTO THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM.
