Nkwaseasem nkoaaaa. What is the Mineral Commission doing about it? How about the Environmental Protection Agency? Just because some miscreants have assess to bulldozers doesn't mean they're qualified to mining lease. This nonsense about small scale mining must stop. There's nothing small scale about mining. Mining must always begin with collection of seeds, seedlings and young plants from the site. A plant nursery is set up to preserve the native plants from the site. Photographs from the Environment are taken. All the top soil up to 5 feet down is dug out and preserved. At the end of mining, the topology of the area has to be recraimed to resemble the original site. The top soil is returned. The seedlings are planted and watered till the plants are established. The environment must look like the pre-mining photos.
In fact this involves a long process, which I doubt these kingpins and thier Chinese counterparts have any idea about. All these cost a lots of money which this illiterate fool Wontumi, Sam Pyne and the likes can never have.

The so called small scale miners are also just like the galamseyers just that they have been giving the permit or license to destroy water bodies and forest. These small scale miners get to their site and cause more damage than the galamseyers. They don't abide by the rules and regulations issued to them by that toothless greedy and corrupt minerals commission. They encroach outside their set-out boundaries, their excavators mine right in the middle of streams and rivers.
The town folks see it including me myself but can't talk cos the whole system is involve .U see diesel and engine oil mixed up with these poor river bodies flowing downstream. These small scale miners refuse to do reclamation of these lands also. They destroy these communities and and come to build in the cities and enjoy life with their families. God curse every politician, soldier, police, chief, government official, and any other person involve in or aiding and abetting this carnage with serious diseases that they can never recover from to engage in these carnage again.

Small scale mining does more harm to the environment on even a larger scale than the galamsey and so the government must put a stop to both immediately.
