Yes, and that is why we are losing the fight against galamsey. The funny thing is when Kufuor was president, there were no Chinese migrants in Ghana so, how did the Chinese come to Ghana? The Chinese came to Ghana during Mills/Mahama government due to some loan agreement they signed with the Chinese government, and the Chinese government included the migration of their people to be part of the agreement which the Mills government obliged.

Right now, NDC is "pretending" as if they have no idea how the Chinese entered Ghana and have shifted the narrative as if NPP was to be blamed.

It was during the last election that foolish Mahama made that statement to grant amnesty to all galamsey prisoners under that NPP government and also to allow the illegal mining to flourish. Also, NDC won in all the galamsey areas so, which party is fueling galamsey, NPP or NDC?

Kufuor unilaterally re-awarded the construction of the stadiums (He circumvented the parliament even when he was warned about the implications including judgment debt) he snatched from Woyome to the Chinese, at the same time gave license to his brother to import rice from China.

Some of those Chinese who came through these contracts realized there is opportunity in making money after funding some friends in the galamsey establishment. So some of them never left since, so to speak.

Wrong move, Mahama. You had better rethink your position, for it goes contrary to efforts of fighting galamsey. Yes, the Akufo-Addo did set Aisha Huang free, but that doesn't justify setting other convicted galamsey operators free. These galamsey operators know how to obtain legal documents to engage in mining but choose to circumvent the law and engage in illegal mining. A government should be thinking of creating employment opportunities for struggling communities, but not rewarding those who have chosen to engage in galamsey and destroy lands and while polluting rivers.
