SSNIT always talk about the rise in number of contributors and surplus income or gains but fails to let known how the scheme works for the informal contributors who are joining us for the first time. The formal sector's total sum of money paid to SSNIT contributors under the scheme is marked by it's income tax for its sustainability but one wonders if this also operates under informal side for the same objective of sustainability. If not then the system is bound to collapse. An ice water seller SSNIT contributor who is not paying direct income tax will definately add the income tax to the actual contributions to exceed that of the formal SSNIT contributor and with expectation of receiving more of the total sum at the end than the formal member who is paying income tax ,and whose total sum is also marked by it's income tax. If this is not checked then many of the formal sector players will learn to use their tier 3 to join that side of informal sector for more and double gains of salary and total sum .
