Soso booklong, nothing here will improve the rate. They have been doing this and it doesn't work. It is just a matter of production to reduce demand for the dollar and getting more from our natural resources

This is not going to happen. The World is moving forward and we are behind. we don't produce nada or anything so where are we going to get the money to bring it down? Let's wake up from our dreams.

In which advance country can buy foreign currencies on the street? Most of these black market traders are all foreigners.

Too much theory. The article is not telling what we must do on the ground to strengthen the cedi.
A few can be considered...
Reintroduce the state farms concept to produce food items like maize, rice, onions and tomotoes that we import from. Niger and Burkina Faso.
Reintroduce the Food Distribution company and make the hold real buffers for the lean seasons.
Reintroduce the large poultry farms like Pomadze and Co. to produce large numbers of poultry to curtail spending USD to import chicken.
Embark on a massive food processing drive. Get our sugar factories back in track.
Reintroduce institutions like EREDEC, NORADEP, CEREDEC, VORADEP. Thea institutions played vital roles to ensure the rural farming programs were successful.
Protect our arable lands.
We can only fix our cedi challenge through food self suffiency. That is what will drive the inflation down. That's what the East African countries have done. When you enter their supermarkets, almost 80% of the items on sale are produced in the country. Only the electricals and electronics and about 40%of wines and spirits, some glassware and chinaware are imported..... And the Chinese food items corner.
Also reintroduce the Gratis Project with a bid to making it more competitive for foundry products.
So we will use FX for real things that we cannot produce or can't produce the quantities that we need. Like fuel, cars, etc.
We can never get out of the FX situation by borrowing. Something we have been doing since 1983/84 under the Economic Recovery Program but hasn't helped us. Interestingly doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is a definition of something unpalatable.

I don't know what gold reserves Ghana has,......but to me ,as there seems to be an endless supply still in the ground,WHY don't they sell a large chunck of the gold reserves to prop up the economy?.....and not borrow so much money to overseas Countries such as China.
Ghana owes China a lot of money, and the debt needs to be reduced ,instead of begging for debt relief like they do....Once you default, on a loan,......there's a penalty rate applied.......The current Finance Minister, seems to be more transparent than the other nerd that was there,as he was just a rude prick.
By getting debt relief in the short term, the debt still has to paid.....but I don't where the money is going to come from when it matures next time.
ANY IDEAS ......CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING.....WOULD BE A START
BUT THE GOVERNMENT, JUST CANT MAKE TOUGH DECISIONS.....THAT IS WHY GHANA WILL ALLWAYS STRUGGLE TO GET BACK ON THE HORSE.....I DONT MEAN MORE TAXES EITHER......GHANA NOW TAXED OUT .......WENT TO A SUPERMARKET YESTERDAY IN KUMASI.........GROCERY BILL WAS 1414 ghc all up.....in that amount was 234 ghc tax.....That was 5 different taxes....on a grocery bill.
There was more staff in the store that customers which you could count on one hand.....People can't afford to shop in a supermarket now because of high taxation......
