The view mostly held by people in Ashanti is the most idiotic view I have ever encountered. Nkrumah and his legacy don’t need you to approve of his legacy. Read history books written by foreigners and you will find Nkrumah as a champion of independence. You are uneducated and you shouldn’t be allowed to comment here. History is written in the hearts of people and not by fools like you and your followers. At his inauguration as the President of Ghana on 1st July 1960, Otumfuor Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh 11 and President Ahmed Sekou Toure of Guinea were the two guests of honour that President Nkrumah invited to his inauguration. When Prempeh 11 was not well, President Nkrumah sent him abroad for treatment. And it was Prempeh 11 that conferred the title Osagyefo on President Nkrumah. I can understand when America talks about their founding fathers, they stole the land from the indigenes. America was not a white man's land.

The Northern Territories, The Asante empire (They were not under the British colony - in effect they were free nation), The Trans-Volta Togoland and The Gold Coast colony. So these four came together and fought for independence not one person. The only thing we can assigned to your father is that he is our first president. That’s it. He did not found anything. Period.
