Unbelievable how we politicised everything. Korle-Bu is a public hospital and why can’t the media for that matter a parliamentarian walk in to access the facility you guys have no idea the devastation caused to patients because of the closure of the surgical unit for the past 10days. Women, on admission, had breast cancer detected early and needed immediate surgery to survive have been sent home, kidney transplants suspended all because of faulty lift. Just so you know the department was fitted with 3 separate elevators. One has not worked for over 15years, the 2nd one has not worked for over 4years even though a contractor installed a brand new elevator. So only 1lift being functional for the past 5yrs. The pressure on that lift was unbelievable and it constantly breaks down. The authorities do a patch work on it anytime it breaks down that they call maintenance. That lift finally gave up the ghost last 10days leading to current crisis. The doctors and nurses who sacrificed themselves to take care of patients work under terrible conditions in Korle-Bu. Do you know most of the surgical theaters have no working sterilizers? Yet you make this a political issue???

I keep asking what at all the MCEs and DCEs use the budget for their various districts for. The parking fees they charge at public car parks, tolls, etc. What do they use these things for? It all goes to confirm that all that these NPP officials came to do and are actually doing is to loot state coffers, gather anything to themselves, and leave the country in a sorry state. It is about time we respect protocol in Ghana. How can an ordinary rogue MP just get up and go to a state facility with hierarchies without following due process, and some stupid fools are here defending this idiotic move by AKANDOH? Ghana has a Minister of state in charge of Health. Akando felt like he is too big of a fool to table a motion to compel the minister to appear before parliament to brief the house about the state of affairs of elevators at the hospital. The other way round is to schedule a meeting with the Minister of health for briefing of the subject matter. Akandoh chose to not do that but without regard to the authorities, he decided to go to Korlebu to be worshipped. That is not the way to go in any civilized economy in the world. I hope he has learned his lesson as a guide for tomorrow.
