That what what you will find in the hansard because that is what happened. Perhaps, you must be talking about the hansard of Coucousland parliament and not Ghana. Kuffuor never had funding from anywhere, and thuz, the project became comatose on paper. It was only resurrected in 2012 when Mahama decided to build hospitals are part of his agenda. Why is it that the party NPP is full of liars who just cannot stop lying to deceive people. Lying to the extent of shamelessly referring to the hansard for what is not true just shows how far you people can go to lie just to deceive. Shame on you.

Ignorance is a disease. Yes, Kuffuor initiated a programme to construct hospitals under Euroject through a Egyptian company. They wre unable to get funding for the project, so the it never took off until he left power. When JDM took over in 2012, he decided to build hospitals as part of his vision and agenda;amomg his plans, he decided to revisit the Euroject idea. This time around, the NDC government sourced for, and got funding from Barclays UK in 2013. The parliament of Ghana then approved the loan late 2013 for the projects to start in 2014. The parliamentary hansard is available for you to go and verify instead of foolishly trying to deceive the public with lies. The records are in parliament. The problem with NPP is that they never tell the truth; they are diabolical, liars and dodgy characters whose mindsets are about deception for profit. So please, the Afari project was tarted in 2014 and was at over 95% complete at the time the NDC left office. In fact, it was supposed to be fully completed and commissioned in April 2017. The NPP, wasteful, vindictive, incompetent abd delusional as they are, decided to leave this monumental project unattended for nearly years, with weeds and rodents taking over, until these last few days of their tenure, to now attempt some face saving gimmicks to deceive the public. I can assure you that those whose actions and inactions have led to this sad state of neglect and losses, will pay for the pain they have wreaked on the state.

Meanwhile we saw parliament approving the phase 2 loan facility under this current government. Even recruitment, which takes much longer time than project commissioning, Mahama was able to do after loosing elections. This is common sense, Prof.

I am pretty sure that most of us commenting on this topic are probably living outside the country and may not have followed the politics of Ghana. Why should political parties wait until they are about to exit power before cutting sod for projects like what Akufo Addo did last week with the sod cutting for the Tema motorway expansion. Oftentimes, we see the NDC and NPP governments rushing to commission uncompleted projects or cut sod for construction when they are not guaranteed to remain in power. So many years ago, pictures and videos of the afari and sewua hospitals in the Ashanti region were posted and we all saw them. Which means that these hospitals were 90 plus percent completed but the NPP government refused to complete them for almost 8 years and that’s mind boggling. Knowing how evil the party is under Akufo Addo they refused to put the finishing touches and open them to their loyal supporters to benefit. What a shame of the NPP as a political party. Same way the saglemi housing project which was 90 percent complete was left to rot. As much as both NDC and NPP parties are bad in managing our resources, l will take the NDC over NPP because they are more prudent and honest than NPP. kufour NPP was much better than this present one and that is the truth. Akufo Addo is too wicked as a human being to make things better for people.

I don't see what the minister and the Prof want to achieve by this senseless banter,like the Prof said a simple Google search will bring up the facts and the facts are that the contract for the Project was signed in 2008 and I believe thst was towards tge end of the term of John A Kuffour ,since then nothing happened till 2014 when construction started under JM and partially completed till Nana Addo also came to finally add his bit to complete it. So the who built it can not be claimed by any party, the money used was state money and the ordinary man will have access to good health all things being equal; that is what matters .

The project started by Acheampong was never completed until engineers pulled it down because of 40years of abandonment resulting in wasted taxpayers monies.

Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah is a gender advocate, humanitarian surgeon, educationist, and philanthropist.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a Medical Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

She is a double board-certified surgeon trained in general surgery, having completed a trauma and burn fellowship and trained in reconstructive surgery too.

In addition to this, she holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health in International Health Management and Planning with special certification in humanitarian assistance and disaster management from Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene Public Health. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah has also worked in private practice in the United States and holds licenses to practice in California, Michigan, and Maryland.

In Ghana, she runs a private surgical facility in Accra. She is also the Founder of Healing Hands Organization, an NGO dedicated to providing medical and surgical care to the poor and needy who have no access to proper healthcare. The organization also provides free medical supplies and equipment to clinics and hospitals in rural areas.

Dr. Ayensu-Danquah is a member of the Ghana FDA Advisory Team for Vaccines and Biological products and a board member of Days for Girls International Ghana. She is also a Professor of Medicine at the Center for Global Surgery at the University of Utah in the United States, a lecturer at the Cape Coast University Medical School, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.

In addition to her medical career, she was the 2020 NDC and currently the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana.
