  Thanks Dr. Godwin Acquaye. That is why all Governments of Ghana must fight to abolish Galamsey. It is poisoning our rivers, water tables, farm lands, etc. Why must we support small-scale gold mining when crude methods are used to extract little gold at the expense massive environmental degradation. Who does that to itself? Suddenly kidney failure has become a common illness in Ghana and we wonder why? All those young men you see in the Galamsey pits will be lucky if they live past 35 years.
