  Good advice. But the military mustn't stay aloof. There's been enough threat from some political leaders to undermine the peace of the country during and after the elections. There may be the need to deploy the military to assist the Police when the latter get overwhelmed. The military MUST remain in a ready mood to intervene with the slightest sign of violence from these political extremists. We need peace in the land.

  Both the Police and the Military may be required to be on post to ensure political intimidation at the polls. The election must be Free and Fair. Anybody who comes to the voting areas with bad intentions must be arrested and jailed. It must be a violence-free election. Democracy and the rule of law must be protected in this year's election. The government must make sure the people are not intimidated at polling centers.

  Prof you may have good reasons but let's look at it from another angle. How many police officers do we have in Ghana? How many polling stations are we having in 7/12/24? How are they resourced? How do we see police personnel in Ghana? Can one police personnel control about 500 agitators?Are they even well trained in crowd control? Can their presence deter people from indulging in criminal activities on election day? If you answer yes to all these questions then we don't need the military. Thanks

This professor should rather educate voters to be law abiding so that they will not have problems with the security forces.
