I personally know a guy in his early teens, who was literally on the verge of killing himself with violence and self destruction in the UK and was out of control. His parents decided as a last resort to save him by sending him down to Ghana to live and school for a while. After more than a year of attending a boarding school in the interland here, he was finally sent back.
He became one of the soundest and most gentle, respectful guy I ever met by the time he was going back. Ghana can can work miracles oh.

First of all, I feel really sorry for the loss of these precious souls. Living abroad especially, in Europe and America is very difficult.
On a more serious note, I would like to point out that most immigrants work so many hours, several day in the week and due to that they spend very little time with their parents. Arguably, I think immigrants, especially single parents should try sending their kids back to Ghana for proper upbringing and to learn respect for authority. Ghana is a peaceful country and you will get good schools for your kids.People brought up in Africa are mentally and emotionally strong and can withstand the pressures of the world. Growing up, you dare not talk back to your parents or any one older than yourself. Now due to westernisation, kids are given too much freedom. However, we forget that as Africans, we do not have the social support and same privileges as the Europeans.
I wish the family of the dead well in this difficult moment and I pray that the daughter of the parents get well and lives.

My mother who pensioned from the Ministry of Health as a nurse and went to the UK to babysit for my sister after 5yrs got her British Passport. She is on a full Britizh govt Pension, has been given a 2 bedroom fully furnished appartment. Each year the British govt spends close to £60,000 on her. Do Ghanaian doctors pensioned even get 20% of this amount from SSNIT. Give me the UK anyday over the shithole called Ghana where 90yr old grandmothers and mothers are condemned to witches camps!
