When it comes to this issue of the Ghanaian economy especially Agric. unless you've experience starvation personally or ceremonially it is difficult to come to terms with the scale of the problem. The Ni9erian singer M.I Abaga in one of his songs iterated people going without food for three days and worst things happen in Ghana but cultural systems will not allow for people to voice them. The statistics is alarming almost 70% of our working people are engaged in small holder farming with primitive tools depending firmly on define providence on natural rains, with such archaic production methods and an increasing population it's clear where the problem is emanating from.
The solution like all of us admit is farming on a commercial scale but records show that this has been tried but failed. After the abolition of the transatlantic trade, some entrepreneurs tried starting plantations, like the ones in South America, Eastern and Southern Africa but their attempt was unsuccessful, The difference is that commercial farmers have the resources to treat Agric. as a business making the necessary big ticket investments that yield the abundance need to ensure our food security and after they left many locals and not so long ago our foremost Prez. Nkrumah also tried his hands via Govt. farms but his approach was not sustainable considering our cultural systems. I remember one farmer admonishing Govt not to appoint a suit wearing Agric. Minister but what do we see
So i will agree we give @Abi approach a chance
