The MP didn't examine the issue critically before speaking and you swallow whatever he spews to you. If you dial a short code with your mobile phone it is the Telco that charges you or the EC? Cammon! Does the EC control mobile network services in Ghana? How much it cost to check is determined by the telcos who are partnering with the EC. You should know by your own common sense that the EC wouldn't expect to gain from people whom they're paid to serve. Sometimes it makes sense to seek clarification instead of jumping to your own conclusions.

You are not serious. The EC budget has already been approved so why charge citizens for checking their voter status? You don't need to partner the telcos to do this. It's basically the database of all registered voters and their polling stations. When you want to check your insurance you do similar at no charge on any network. Why isn't that being charged. Those are the questions you shd be asking. Do not swallow everything hook line and stinker.

You are getting it wrong. Citizens do not have to pay to enjoy their civic rights. When it comes to elections, everybody should be seen making the process encouraging to vote. The EC did a budget for this exercise which was approved. It is not every online service that citizens have to pay for. If we really want to digitalize then lets get this clear. Charfing for everything will never get the nation to become digital citizens.

Impunity everywhere under this Akufo-Addo-Bawuliar NPP administration. No transparency, no accountability. Do they know that fees and charges of public services are regulated by Act? Citizens are so ignorant that they justify any impunity with lame excuse of cost effectiveness. When you breach the law, your good intentions no longer matters. Think ooo think. On the face value 50 peswas is nothing. But multiply by at least half of the voter population who may find that option convenient. Where's the that money going to? Consolidated Fund or individual pockets? Have the right procurement processes been followed? These are the questions right thinking Ghanaians should be asking instead of attacking people doing their oversight duties.

I tried to do the verification but immediately stopped when I saw the charge. I would not pay even 1pesewa for that national exercise! Whether my name appears in the register or not I don't care. I have not seen any significant changes in Ghanaians except those in politics, their families, friends and cronies. You waive taxes on items imported buy your cronies and you to charge for a national exercise. If time is money who pays me for my time waiting in queues voting for our non performing greedy corrupticians? This is totally unacceptable! I won't check it today or tomorrow!

Ghana has a long way to go. People who are supposed to know better rather behave ignorantly and stupid. EC doesn't owe the telecos. Even in the advance countries, when you transact services online, you are notified that charges and services may apply. The GH0.50 will not go the EC as the MP is portraying to make EC look bad. Please, be forthright to work for the betterment of Ghana. Stop the propaganda to your advantage. Ghana first.
