There people were part of ASANTEMAN KINGDOM before the British dissolved it!

Ashanti kingdom was dissolved first and then restored again and these towns were all part of the the first kingdom! When it was dissolved first, these towns went back to their respective state but when it was restored again, they came back and the British asked the ASANTEHENE to make them a PARAMOUNTCY so u can’t say that, they always have been a paramountcy!

If you say the BA regional house of chiefs has not responded to your correspondence, you petition the National House of chiefs. Your CD forms for elevation must pass through your regional house for vetting by the research committee, standing committee and then finally by the general house. It will finally ends at the national to go through same process. If you people don't do the right thing you'll end up facing challenges at the national where some of your own people will go to court to put injunction on your forms. So you people should do the needful. Even if the Asantehene give you the elevation, it doesn't ends there you need the national recognition.

Bomaa Chieftaincy Dispute: One Person Gunned Down

One person has been gunned down in a chieftaincy dispute at Bomaa in the Ahafo Region.

There are disagreements over the installation of a new chief in the area.

There is a heavy security presence in the town and the youth have been urged to exercise restraint.

The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II has said the Bomaa area is under the Dormaa paramountcy.

The chiefs and some people of the area on their part have challenged that position by the Dormaahene and insisted that they owe allegiance to Asanteman and therefore will continue their allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Following the death of the chief of Bomaa, the chieftaincy dispute has been re-ignited in the area.

Some chiefs from Bomaa recently called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pledge their continued allegiance.

The Dormaahene on his part initiated moves to install a new chief at Bomaa and this has resulted in the shooting incident leading to the death of one person and injuries to others.

The Ahafo Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has moved in to intervene.

U see, the people of BOMAA who are under NANA TIMUBU don’t want to be part of DORMAA anymore as NANA DORMAAHENE has imposed a chief on them and also chosen his IN LAW as the okyeame for the town and they have rebelled so many times!

Some of the aggrieved BOMAA kingmakers came to MANYIA only last year for Otumfuo to help them break away but Otumfuo told them that, NO he can’t do that!

Compare this to what DORMAAHENE is doing in Bono east and what OTUMFUO did and your user pea brains to judge!

Most of u are stupid and yall fall for anything because it involves ASHANTIS!

Dormaaahene is the one causing and instigating people because he wants to be BONOHENE so badly but those Bono chiefs ain’t dumbos!

Which Bono chief will take his forefathers lands and put it under DORMAAHENE? Who tell me?

Or u think, the Bono chiefs doesn’t know the ambitions of dormaahene that he wants to control their lands?

Bono has been carved into two, BONO AND BONO EAST and the Bono which is TECHIMAN isn’t even part of this nonsense!

Dormaahene is desperate to be the OVERLORD of Bono but it wldnt work because even in Bono REGION there are more ASHANTI TOWNS than Bono towns!!

THE HISTORY OF THE PEOPLE OF WORAWORA

Worawora is a town in the Biakoye District of the Volta Region,surrounded by a beautiful scenery of mountains.The town is bordered by Kudje at the south,Asato Akan at the East,Apesokubi and the Volta Lake to the north and Tapa Amanya at the west.Through settled in the Volta Region,the Woraworas speak Twi,as a result of their ancestral origin from Kuntanase,near Lake Bosomtwe in Ashanti Region.

HISTORY

This history as told by our elder statesmen states that,in 1731,Nana Opoku Ware I became the King of Asante.This was during the period of Asante greatness in War campaigns.It was also around this same period that a lot of migrations of Asantes occurred .Some of the people of Kuntanase state took part in these migration to settle elsewhere.The reasons for the migrations were varied.Family heads and chiefs led th migrations.One significant fact is that there were no land boundaries in those days as we have now.Boundaries were determined by occupation through conquest.

Our chief Nana TiprekeseBaa led his people who were mostly from the Oyoko clan through bush paths to settle first at Domaakwaa in Denkyira but later left and trekked southward to settle at Agyanoa near Aburi Botanical Gardens in the Eastern Region.Meanwhile.part of them had branched off and settled in at Atibie- Kwahu led by their leader Akora Oko.Nana TwerefourTim also led a group that settled at Kwahu Dukoman and Opanyin Onyina settled at Oyinakrom which has now become Nyakrom.Another group headed farther south and settled at Breman Kuntanase.

SETTLEMENT AT ABURI

After settling there for almost twelve years,war broke out between the Akyems and the Akwamus.Sincere the people did not want to take sides,they travelled eastwards,trekking along the Volta river to Nkrofena at Nkonya where they settled.

SETTLEMENT AT NKONYA

Their stay at Nkonya was short lived! After settling there for almost ten years,they fought with the Nkonyas.The cause of the war was that the Nkonyas had a fetish which required the sacrifice of an albino(ofiri) before it could be worshiped.As they did not want to sacrifice any of their albinos,they captured one albino from the Worawora people and sacrificedd him to their fetish.This the Oyokos did not take lightky,and took a fight with them,resulting in the death of their warlord,Tiprekese Baah.His nephew ,Opoku Frefre took over and lead them to the top of a mountain with a flat top,near the present settlement.They named it Mmosombepo because they planted seven gods that they had carried with them,there!

SETTLEMENT AT EWAREWARE(WORAWORA)

Traveling for nearly forty years,they decided to stay on top of the mountain and replenish their depleted numbers.Soon they realized their lives were again in danger,as the Chokosi tribe ,who were also staying on the Obuguan Hil. north of their settlement ,were also very powerful,they could attack and drive them away.

Afariwaa, a very beautiful Worawora woman got married to the of Chokorsi war leaders.She lured her husband,who then revaeled the secrets of their prowess.She went to inform the Worawora people and taught them the tricks they "Chokorsis" used to conquer their enemies.

On the night of the Chokorsi festival,all the guards were sleeping as a result of drunkenness.Afariwa crept stealthily and rolled all yhe big boulders they have been using to kill their enemies into the valley.Their Worawora troops,who had then fortified themselves and were and were hiding under the hill,pounced on the sleeping Chokorsis, fought and defeated them.!The Woraworas then drove the Chorkorsi away to the northern parts of Togo.The gallant people of Worawora did not settle on the Obuguan Hill , but took the lands and decided to farm and hunt there.

After staying on top of the Ofeibeposo for over a hundred years,cntrolling all the lands around them,they called the place "EWAREWARE" meaning a long long journey.This name has been corrupte to WORAWORA !

THE PRESBYTERIAN MISSION SETTLEMENT AT WORAWORA...1891

In 1891,the first Basel missionary ,Rev.Nicholas T.Clerk from the Basel Mission at Osu, a Jamaican climdbed the Mmosombepo-Fetish Mountain.He did not have it easy converting the people from their known way of worship to Christian worship.It happened that one of the eldrs' wives got sick ,and all the seven gods they worshipped could not cure her.As her condition worsened,Rev Clerk asked permission to pray for her,which was granted.After praying continously for three days,the woman recovered !This miracle drew unto Rev.Clerk ,a large following.He moved down with his first converts,where they built a new settlement called Mission in 1894,which still exist today as the Presbyterian Mission.This is where the Presbyterian schools were built

Apesokubi Traditional Area reacts to Apesokubi land ownership claim by Akposso

Okgyeaman Asiedu Koram II, Paramount Chief of Apesokubi Traditional Area, has reacted to claims by some Akposso descendants in Apesokubi that they are indigenous inhabitants of the area.

The Paramount Chief alleged that they were descendants of some Akposso immigrants from the Republic of Togo, who settled in the Apesokubi Traditional Area in Ghana mainly as farmhands during the early parts of the 20th century and not indigenous inhabitants as they claimed.

This is contained in a press release from the Apesokubi Traditional Authority copied to the Ghana News Agency.

According to the statement, based on oral tradition and historical facts, both proven and verifiable, the claims of the Akposso immigrants were false.

“We have detailed particulars of some of the pioneer Akposso immigrants in Apesokubi Traditional Area, their immediate ancestry, and the several different towns, villages and areas in Togo as their places of origin and the landlords who hosted them when they arrived in Apesokubi in Ghana,” the statement said.

It noted that all available historical evidence established that the indigenous inhabitants of Apesokubi Traditional Area were Akans whose forebears acquired the area by conquest and settlement more than 300 years.

“It is unfortunate, frustrating and most regrettable that the hospitable nature of the Akan indigenous citizens in the Apesokubi Traditional Area is being taken for granted and repaid with ingratitude by the Akpossos,” it added.

According to the statement, all pieces of legislation regarding membership of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs had always mentioned Apesokubi as a member.

“Membership of the newly created Oti Regional House of Chiefs, made up of 26 Paramount Chiefs, also include the Paramount Chief of Apesokubi, a name that is consistent with well-established and long usage and practice,” the statement added.

The Akposso community reportedly organised a press conference earlier claiming they were the indigenous inhabitants of the area and rightful landowners in the area.

They said the area was called Akposso-kubi and not Apesokubi and that they were the rightful chiefs and traditional authorities in the area.

“Following the defeat of Germany in the First World War, the Akposso traditional state/political district in German Togoland was partitioned into two between France and Britain, thereby placing one half portion in French Togoland (Republic of Togo) and the other half portion in British Togoland (Republic of Ghana),” they added.

Apesokubi is located in the Biakoye District of the Oti region.

1. quality of life or living conditions

4. Employment or means of livelihood
5. Social amenities
6. General infrastructure development
7. Natural resources etc
Are the people whose chief come under Asanteman better off in terms of living conditions or the other way round ? These and similar factors should engage our attention to make an informed decision that can stand the test of time and not just elevation to the status of Paramouncy.
