If the Ghanaian economy grew by 20 billion USD recently, why is the value of the cedi falling so badly against international currencies and why is the cost of living so high? How has this economic growth of 20 billion USD benefited the ordinary Ghanaian? Somebody please help me understand.

The finance minister is being disingenuous. The $20 billion is entirely due to rebasing. Everybody knows that rebasing does not imrove the economy. The only thing it does is to enable one borrow more since the debt to GDP r ... read full comment
The finance minister is being disingenuous. The $20 billion is entirely due to rebasing. Everybody knows that rebasing does not imrove the economy. The only thing it does is to enable one borrow more since the debt to GDP ratio instantly looks squeaky clean. I challenge Amin to publish year by year growth and on will see that all of this was in 2017/8 which enabled Akufo Addo to go on borrowing spree.
