However, Nkrumah, true to the fears of the opposition, dismantled that arrangement by chasing away opponents when he introduced the PDA Act. In the end, he did away with the constitution and eventually introduced a one party state. The 1969 constitution was just to restore the arrangement at independence.

Nkrumah was the flame that set off that fire cracker of an idea called the REPUBLIC; a diverse sprinkling of people decidedly uniting under one banner to become a nation. He was the GREAT UNIFYING FORCE. Danquah's maxim was Independence in the SHORTEST POSSIBLE time; he never believed in a Republic nor was he interested in independence. He had a far more insidious and self-seeking agenda, decidedly CLANNISH, not unlike that captured in the odious AGYA PA DEƐ document and reminiscent of the peculiar management style of the current president. We were going NOWHERE FAST till Nkrumah broke onto the scene. JB never forgave Nkrumah for snatching "the grand prize" from him. Nor did his cousin Busia. All parties antecedent to the NPP are all veiled wolves which have pursued the same destructive ideology of never allowing Nkrumah's Ghana, their nemesis, from ever making any progress, not only to spite him but more importantly, to reap where they have never sown by auctioning it for private profit every chance they get.

The birth of our independence started on a tribal line and so shall it be.
Even on a regional levels there is still a tribal and ethnic war and the people in this smaller places don't see each others to be one and for that the country cannot be one.
To move forward in my opinion we have to do away we our political system, give the power to the chiefs to rule and affects changes, have constitution that best suit ethics and tribes.

Dr Danquah won the first general election held on 8th February 1951 on the ticket of the UGCC and became an MP. However in the second general election held on 15th June 1954 , Dr Danquah who contested on the ticket of the Ghana Congress Party was defeated in Akyem Abuakwa Central by his half brother 's son, Okyenheneba lawyer Aaron Eugene Asante Ofori Atta, the CPP candidate..In the election that gave us our lndependence held on 12, 17 July 1956 Dr Danquah who contested on the ticket of the National Liberation Movement was defeated by C E Nimo, the CPP candidate in Akim Abuakwa North .So please at lndependence Dr Danquah was not in government. He was an ordinary Ghanaian., defeated and rejected by his own AKYEM ABUAKWA .Of course in the Presidential election held in 196l0, Dr Danquah was defeated by Kwame Nkrumah, the CPP Presidential candidate..Please Dr Danquah was defeated and rejected in the1954 and 1956 elections by his own AKYEM ABUAKWA

The big six were the six members of the Convention Peoples' Party (CPP), who stood on the podium at the Polo Grounds where the body of Kwame Nkrumah now rests, and together with him declared Ghana's independence.
The name Gold Coast to Ghana at a minute past 12:00 p.m. on 6th March, 1957 by Kwame Nkrumah, Komla Abeli Gbedema, Archie Casley-Hayford, Kojo Botsio, N.A Welbeck and Krobo Edusei.
Thus the founders of Ghana are Kwame Nkrumah, Komla Agbeli Gbedema, Archie Casley-Hayford, Kojo Botsio, N.A. Welbeck and Krobo Edusei.
Members of the UP party were still in Britain on 6th March, 1957 protesting against the British granting Ghana independence.
No member of the UGCC was at the Polo Ground when the name Gold Coast was named Ghana.
So, from the above no member, I mean, no member of the UGCC is a founder of Ghana, but rather Subverters of Ghana's independence.
So 4th August has become the day Ghana was subverted.
All those who love Ghana with their heart must as from today call 4th August Ghana Subverters' Day.
Kofi Abrefa was head of a delegation to the Queen of England Queen Elizabeth to convince the British from granting the Gold Coast independence.
The words of the delegation were :Why are you in haste to wash our hands off us.
Your experiment is not over.
Land of our birth we pledge to thee,
Our love and toil in the years to be,
As we are grown to take our place
As men and women with our race.

Land of our birth, our faith, our pride,
For whose dear sake our fathers died,

Let those who claim that UGCC members founded Ghana tell the whole world about their activities on the day the Gold Coast was named Ghana.
Where they at that ceremony to rename the Gold Coast Ghana.
Where are their pictures and speeches about founding Ghana.
