I don't know the rank of Paul Sarpong the policeman known as "Aban" who became famous in Ghana due to his refusal to accept bribes, but he did not die of pneumonia rather, he was poisoned.

It is his own people the police who killed him for his beliefs. He went to a party and that was the end of him. The truth must be told because in Ghana if you are in a group or whatever, you have to go by the dictates of the group else, trouble awaits you.

Paul Sarpong was giving a state burial by the Acheampong regime. So, Paul Sarpong died due his refusal to accept bribes which his own people saw as an affront to their job.
