Shameful. Why will the Army allow itself to be dragged into this court case that has nothing to with his service in Army? Even if the purpose was to act as character witness for the State, it still makes no sense. Very unprofessional of the Ghana Army high command to stoop to this low level in an attempt to aid the Attorney General in his attempt to malign the defendant since he was having a difficult time trying to prove his case in court. The Army should rather have made it known to the court that it will only provide information to court that details the officer's length of service and whether that officer's discharge was honourable or dishonourable. The military has no business testifying in a civil or criminal proceeding about an officer's character, and it's even more shameful when the person testifying is a ranking officer like the CDS. Only in a political persecution case will the CDS allow himself to be dragged into a court proceeding. The Ghana Army needs to rethink its practice of allowing itself to be used by the Attorney General, for Ghanaians and the courts can read between the lines.
