  Why should one be in police remand for six years ? This is what the Supreme Court should address . It is just inhumane and an injustice to put a suspect in jail for this long before his case is heard for any judgement. In the civilized world one is proven innocent until proven guilty by competent court of law . But in our judicial system, it looks like one is guilty until proven innocent. This must change.

  this is where you have to look at, and propose a holistic measures to stop that.
  if The Government has arrested somebody unlawfully , we must ask the Government to pay compensation ,
  The police station and the officer who prosecuted the case or put the person in prison - without concluding the Trial must be call for questioning and punishment.
  This has been the lazy way the police has been doing their job.
  They just for the first appearance in court ask for police custody sentence , and that is it- they go and sleep while somebody is waiting for the police to continue the prosecution .
  now The Judges and the court system in this country
  it is the duty of the court, to make sure that - the accused the Court has given the police a warrant to be kept must at all time of court dates appear before court.-
  you the Trial judge knows the where about of the Accused , you put him there, and must make sure either you freed him or you conclude the Trial and put him under normal court sentence. if not all those judges who had issued these type of warrant but did not continue the case, must be also either demoted, or sack from been a judge.
  
  This issue is more bigger than what we are reading.
  
  it is base on this and some good reasons that Chief Justice Thodora wood presided and make a ruling that any case in this country been murdere felony or whatever must be bailable.
  if you are a judge and refuse a bail application and you don't make sure the accused are brought to court every day for prosecution and conclude the trial - you don't deserve to be a judge- you must be relieve from your post.
  The delay tactics of the Attorney General is also not be accepted and must not be allowed to continue.
  if the Attorney General and the prosecutors cannot finish their investigation before making arrest, then they have no business to come to court and plead for time, the Accused must be freed of lack of evidence.
  you cannot accused somebody , and imprison the person and ask the court to give you time for investigation - that is poor job and it must not be entertain in democracy and rule of law.
  Remember mr Judge that somebody is behind bars, either guilty or innocent , his freedom guarantee by the constitution has been taken away by you, why do you allowed delay tactics ? you are more guilty than the accused
