Blame the city planners. I quite remember there were trees that lines the streets from.the Trade fair site right through Burma Camp but in the name.of road expansion all those trees were pulled down until today the road has no shades. Look at our major roads trees are totally absent in the city of Accra. Pass through 37 military hospital and you would.love it. Intellectuals in charge of some of our departments think food and clothing is all we need. Besutifucation is all about destroying trees and constructing roads.

We just don't seem to value trees. There was an attempt to fell Sandema Mahogany Canopy trees to widen the road. Thankfully, this was successfully resisted

Thanks very much. If you go to my village every family in the village have 2 or 3 kiosks, and district assembly and traditional leaders are happy about that

Excellent. All the local assemblies are sleeping on their jobs for allowing kiosks at every street corner.

It's an eyesore to see cities in Ghana full of kiosks and the district assemblies look unconcerned. Every part of the country is full of kiosks and our political leaders are happy and called this development

Thank you Madam. You have said it all. It is such an eyesore to walk around in Accra and other Ghanaian cities /towns. Quite often I ask myself why so much indiscipline in our society. Who grants the permit to erect the Kiosks? Also why so many billboards along the roads? I advise our leaders and city council authorities to travel to Addis Ababa (Ethiopian) and see how well organized and modern Addis has become. Ghana, mother Ghana we need to wake up and start transforming our country. Currently, we are not doing well compared to many African countries.

it is lack of knowledge -
This country is sick-
we have given the whole country to political fools , political illiterates , to lead the intellectuals.
what do we expected - if a qualified driver sit at the back seat of a 44 seater bus, and give the stealing wheel to a class 1 pupil to drive him from Kumasi to Accra ?
Those political appointees to the various sectors in this country are people without knowledge , they are people without any foresight , they are very ignorant to how a country or a city could be developed - their sole duty is to defend the party to win another term of political period . they don't know that the Air they are breathing comes from the trees around his house, so without those trees he is going to breath a recycled air and that is dangerous to his health.
statically every household need not less than 5 trees around it for better air .
they are very ignorant that
the Air the breath out which is the CO2 need to be absorbed by the trees around his house for a healthy environment and long life.
have you ask yourself - why people in our rural areas don't fall sick often , and they could also life long than those in the cities ?
all because those in the rural areas got purified Air to breath and that prolong their life span.
The most places where we must take tree planting very serious is the over crowded and congested cities because the volume of the CO2 produced in a day is very heavy and could cause short - breathing and suffocation.
all the KIOSK along our streets and roads need to be pulled down.
if any person want to make a kiosk -it suppose to be like a store which is within the building or the facility , the pavement of the house is for trees and free walking way.
all over the country you could see people allocating certain parts of plots and lands to themself without a permit to do all kinds of unauthorised activities.
if you don't ask the people to vacate from an unauthorised place, another person would join and the form an unauthorised queues as if they are allowed to stay there.
I don't understand why we should use the taxpayers money to pay salaries of Town and country planners , but they allow chiefs to sell lands without first planning for the area.
why are they not enforcing even those places they have planned and demarcated why are thy not enforcing the law and allowing people to settle where they suppose not to settle. ?=
