Whether debate or not, the election would come on and John Mahama would be retired. Mahama would never sit on the presidential seat again, never, and those following him should tell him in his face that he should forget being president again.
Ghanaians are behaving as if Ghana was paradise under Mahama. While nobody is using the effect of covid as an excuse, nobody can comment or debate the world economy leaving covid out of it because its effect is still around.
Since Nkrumah, no president had boldly told Ghanaians that he is not a magician to conjure jobs other than John Mahama, and some idiots want him back?
When Mahama went to the IMF, he was told not to hire nobody, give pay raise and under his presidency, no government worker received salary or wage increment. Recently, NPP government had increased government workers salaries and wages by 23% despite all the turmoil going on around the world.

I acknowledge Prof's concerns regarding the necessity and viability of a presidential debate ahead of the upcoming 2024 elections. However, I think there are several cogent reasons why such a debate is essential for our democratic process.
• Enhancing Democratic Engagement:
Presidential debates provide a platform for direct engagement with the electorate. They encourage citizens to actively participate in the democratic process by evaluating the policies and positions of the candidates in a structured and direct manner.
• Transparency and Accountability:
A debate allows candidates to be transparent about their policies and past actions. This transparency fosters accountability, compelling candidates to justify their decisions and future plans in front of the electorate.
• Educated Electorate:
Debates educate the electorate by providing a comprehensive understanding of the candidates' platforms. This is particularly important in Ghana, where informed voting is crucial for the consolidation of our democracy. The electorate deserves to hear detailed policy discussions and proposals directly from the candidates. This could be an opportunity for the NDC particularly to unveil the monster called "24-Hour Economy" and prove that the desperate Gonja thief started the FSHS policy and NHIS as he claims.
• Equal Opportunity for Scrutiny:
While media encounters are valuable, they often lack the immediate and structured comparison that debates offer. A debate places candidates side by side, allowing voters to directly compare their competencies, vision, and policy proposals.
• Counteracting Media Bias:
The concern about media bias is valid. However, a nationally televised debate with equal airtime for all candidates can mitigate this bias. Debates are typically moderated by neutral entities, ensuring that all candidates have an equal platform to present their views.
• Historical Precedent and Evolution:
While the NPP may have previously declined debates, the dynamic nature of political contexts requires evolving strategies. The current call for a debate reflects the party’s commitment to fostering a more informed and engaged electorate, regardless of past stances.

The incompetent and desperate Gonja thief is telling lies all over the country during his rallies. He is making empty promises and pronouncing ponies that he and his entire team cannot explain in a coherent manner. A formal, structured and public debate is the platform where we can tell whether he can look DMB in the face and claim that he started Free Education in Ghana. It would be an opportunity for him to explain the 24-Hour Economy and where he will get the resources to relocate Accra as the national capital, build a women's bank, a dialysis centre in Bolgatanga, extend free education to private schools etc.
