What significant is a historian in socio-economic development of a country? NAPO spoke his opinion about Dr Nkrumah vis-a-vis President Akuffo Addo and his NPP party. If for any reason you disagree with him, just say so, but don't insult him. In any case, how much money did Dr Nkrumah inherit from the Colonial Government? And what was the population of Ghana then? Was development projects understood by Dr Nkrumah commensurate to the resources and wealth he had at his disposal? A useless Professor teaching a useless course. Dr Nkrumah was an ordinary human being. He was not God.

  Kwame Nkrumah did well on the Foreign Policy and international front. He was a Pan Africanist by all standards. Domestically and on the politics of Ghana he started well and was part of the Big Six. He subsequently won the elections in 1957 and became Ghana's first Prime minister on 7th March 1957. His industrialisation drive was enormous. His political career started a nose dive when he declared Ghana a ONE PARTY STATE on 1July 1962. He did that by banning all other opposition Parties the UP . He introduced the Preventive Detention Act PDA which he used to arrest the opposition and put them behind Bars at Ussher Fort and other prisons through out the country . Those jailed under PDA include Dr JB Dankwa who invited Nkrumah into the UGCC as it 1st General Secretary. These unpopular political decisions was counter productive and he neglected the detiorating economic mess Ghana was plunged into as a result of over ambitious industrialisation and his over ambitious foreign and African Politics at the expense of detiorating domestic political front ie going after political opponents and imprisoning them. He was his own downfall .
