Why is NPP contradicting itself ? On one hand they are breaking the 8. On the other hand they want to complete with the Free SHS bill before Dec 7th election to avoid the risk of NDC coming to "cancel" it if they win power. My question is, why the fear and light of speed rush for the bill to be passed before Dec if and if indeed they are sure of breaking the so-called 8?

The talk talk is too much in Ghana. Everything consultation everything consultation. Why at all? We are far behind in development but every effort to move on is always stalled with unnecessary long talk. Everyone knows that the introduction of FSHS has affected private SHS but that should not give them the inclination to oppose it. Bring your views across to be incorporated into the bill and not demand for delay thinking that in the unlikely event that Mahama wins he will abolish it to your advantage. You can't be smarter than Ghanaians

If they are not consulted on the nature of the bill, how will they bring out their views to be incorporated in the bill?

So sad! A whole professor, who is also a beneficiary/product of free education for northerners, is here calling the free SHS a debacle. A programme which has annually, since its inception, given opportunity to over 100,000 financially disadvantaged students to gain access to SHS education. There is also no empirical study on the pros and cons of the Double Track system, yet the professor is making wild allegations, it is unfortunate. Double Track is an Optimal Solution under limited or constrained resources. Most of our educational resources are underutilised when classes are not in session and during school vacations, while young and resourceful brains and talents go waste. We can’t afford to continually waste both underutilised educational resources and young and resourceful brains and talents. Both costs are huge in the long run.

Ghanaians are not aware that the current hardships they're going through is as a result of the free SHS.
Having abandoned the private SHS, the government was compelled to use the available resources to build more classrooms and employ more teachers.
Had the government involved or consulted stakeholders, this problem could have been averted.
The track system still persist because the government cannot absorb all the students into one stream. There's so much pressure on the available resources in the schools.
Students are compelled to come to school with marker, paper etc meaning the government alone cannot bear the cost of education.
