Nobody cares if there are 1000 cases at the supreme the trajectory she is going about this whole thing is suspicious. Despite the fact that you are CJ doesn’t authorize you to recommend appointment of new judges without consulting judicial council even though am a lay man but in every organization we have council of members that decide on the administrative smooth running of the organization. Don’t be power drunkard because you are appointed by your pay master because of that you want to do something to please him ok. Supreme Court being autonomous body doesn’t warrant to take wrong thing to be right just take your time and not to please anybody because you can still be booted out if your conduct shows you are pleasing someone but not the interest of the country

1. if in USA is practising federalism and each federal state has a Supreme Court in which minimum is 9 and maximum is 11 judges
let us compare the number of people in the each federal state to the number of people in the unitary Ghana -$ to see how many people the 9 judges serves in the USA.
in Ghana we are little above or below 30million people -
if we are having quality appointed judges but not political sycophantic quantity at the Supreme Court to serve only 30million people -
it makes sense to even cut the number of Ghana Supreme Court judges to even only 7.
please stop defending the bad precedents

we the people of this country would accept it - that if we also have Supreme Court in all the 16 Regions, and equip it with maximum of 5 justices , that would be acceptable but don't load them in the centralised Accra

You have brought the image of the supreme Court into disrepute and by extension the entire Judiciary. Already some people don’t trust the Judiciary in dispensing Justice and your actions has increased the suspicion. CJ what is your understanding of Article 144(2) of the Constitution? Does it say the CJ who should advise the President or the CJ? You now see why all manner of people are lambasting you? Oh my God!

The court of Last resort and the highest in the USA is the Supreme Court. So functionally we can compare the highest in the land between Ghana and the USA. Forget about the names being Supreme Court. We have Counties instead of Districts.

If the chief justice feels the court is overwhelmed with cases and need more justices, she should rather suggest that each region have their own Supreme Court to try cases and refer any appeals to national Supreme Court. That is what the chief justice should advocate .

You don't care about the stability and efficiency of the court, all you care about is doing the will of your Julor House benefactor ananse Akufo-Addo. You're as much a mistake on that Supreme Court just as Akufo-Addo is a mistake in the Presidency. Our judges waste a lot of time over cases in their courts.
I took a case in court in 2019 and the defendants did not step into the court, nor stray into it even once.
The judge waited till 2022 to rule on the case.
