Who keeps the children?
A man and his young wife were in divorce court, but the custody of their children posed a problem.
The mother gets up and says to the judge that since she brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them.
The man also wanted custody of his children, so the judge asked for his justification.
After a long silence, the man slowly rose from his chair and replied, "Your Honor, when I put a dollar in a vending machine and a Coke comes out, does the Coke belong to me or the machine?"

Not all names are borrowable. Ga names are already arranged according to tradition and no one from any different family lineage can use it. Waa look at the example she sighted. England, do they have tradition?
A country someone is called rice, wood, stone etc. Is that a name? You are an African, use your brain judge.

No wonder our traditional marriages are still referred to as engagement. When a lawyer would rather give an example of a foreign culture tells me that our culture and cases in Ghana are not valued by the legal system. For your information, the divorced Ghanaian woman will shy away from using the man's name. Rather advocate for our laws and legal education to look at this from.our culture point of view.

So your former wife can go around using the same name as you current wife. She can even claimto br your wife still. She got the name through marriage which is no more so why use the name.

She ‘chose’ to bear that name. It is up to her to stop or continue using it. She could have even sworn an affidavit to start using your name when you were dating. It’s by choice.

Why approbate and reprobate at the same time, when you same lawyers say it is not allowed? You don’t want the man anymore, but you still want any benefit derived from being associated with his name. The derived benefit, coming maybe, from his persona. Very ridiculous!! If no one owns a name, why then do we give names? By what means do we identify or refer to a person, without a name? Do we just refer to the person as herr, heii, or kwɛɛ?

This is a stupid law. Before she got married to the man, the question is, was she using the man’s name?
