  It is only in a dictatorial system that ONE PERSON can be seen as a FOUNDER. Tell me who founded USA, Canada, and any country in the Western World. In dictatorships like China, North Korea,and Cuba, one person can be designated as the Founder.
  Nkrumah cannot be the Founder of Ghana because before he was brought in by the other Big Six, the struggle for the Independence of Ghana had already began. He was made the General Secretary of the UGCC to handle and continue with affairs. Unfortunately, he was Power Drunk and decided to break away and form his own party. He never liked contrary opinions and was bent on imposing Russian style of Socialism and torture on Ghanaians. Those who opposed his ideas were sentenced to die at The Nsawam Concentration and Torture Camp. He sent those who brought him to help govern Ghana to die at Nsawam Prison. People became fed up and he was overthrown. Can you imagine the jubilation that went on at Military, Police and Prison Barracks? It served him well that he also died alone by himself in exile at Guinea without any of his family members there.
  It does not take only ONE PERSON TO FIGHT FOR INDEPENDENCE AND FORM A COUNTRY. Nkrumah came to help to continue from where others have started. He was never the only founder of Ghana. People started before he joined the struggle.

  Twisting history for your own personal narrative and gain does no good to the country. There is no reason for this change and people like you who don’t question anything but support and defend senseless actions of the government are themselves enemies of the country. In all nations, there is always a figure who is mentioned as the most influential figure in their history. This doesn’t mean Nkrumah did it all alone. Indeed the credit goes to the people of this country.

Also,Western industrial revolutions could not have succeeded without the policies of their so-called "benevolent dictators'.Yes African societies can also do better under benevolent dictators.

  Akuffo-Addo's political agenda was to obliterate Nkrumah 's name from Ghana's political landscape and replace it with that of J.B.Danquah but he has failed miserably .Scrapping the Republic Day holiday is an integral part of that agenda. Akuffo-Addo should remember that J.B.Danquah was on the pay roll of the CIA.
