"People must forget about politics and elections and focus on their lives because elections don't bring any change in people's lives." This argument is often used as a moral standpoint by individuals who consider themselves philosophers. However, they can be labeled as "foolosophers" because they overlook the fact that in a democratic society, it is the duty of all citizens to participate in the political life of our country. If not we might as well live in a dictatorship, if we actually don't care who is taking which decisions.

Furthermore, even if one chooses to abstain from politics, politics does not disregard them. This is something my father used to emphasize when he said, "If you opt to ignore politics, refrain from voting, or abstain from any form of demonstration, it will not exempt you from future tax increases."

Unfortunately, what these individuals might not realize is that political power is the only means through which our country makes decisions that impact our national and individual lives, either directly or indirectly. It is only when politicians abuse their power and silence opposition that these individuals may realize the consequences of their apathy, after years of their hardwork have been undermined and people remain indifferent.

Police and military personnel that are affiliated to the opposition parties may engage in violence against their colleagues who are in the sides of the ruling party. So it could be brutal conflict if any dubious acts are committed during the Election Day.
