She lost her husband a couple of years ago and still recovering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression. Her judgement cannot be trusted.

If the student has flouted rules, you punish the student. Am an old student of the school, during our time when Boss man Owusu Ayim was headmaster with his two assistants Mr Okyiamah and Miss Gbedemah things of that nature didn't take place.
Things if that nature didn't take place not because that students then were good, but, even as bad as students have always been, they knew how to handle students.

The actions of the School Authorities, especially the physical assault are most reprehensible.
However, Labone Secondary School students have now gained some notoriety for indicipling and street rioting, in the Labone/La area. On more than one occassion the students have rioted with students of 'other schools' in the area of La Emmause, and police had to be dispatched to the area. This trend of affairs may have put some pressure on the School's Management. It however is not an excuse for serious physical assault and detention without food and water, i.e. if those allegations are true.

I was a victim of s teacher slapping me for chatting with my friend during a home management lesson. We were in the pantry looking for utensils and this teacher who usually picks on me came in to slap me though there were 3 of us in the pantry. My Grandad came to the school but the Headmistress was adamant that unless I apologized to the Teacher, I would not be allowed into her class. Well, my parents thought otherwise and I had 90 minutes of free lessons each week. BTW, I have turned out well and missing that home management lessons has not done me any harm. This teacher needs to be disciplined but knowing Ghana it'll be swept under the carpet. The family of this young man should pursue legal action against this bully of a teacher. My thoughts

This is the end result when you choose to copy another without having the necessary resources to implement what they do.

For example, schools in the western world especially in the advanced countries be it elementary school university all have code of conducts. The more conservative one wants every admitted student sign it before enrolment while others do it through the application process. You can aske for a copy any time and it explains the process for dismissal, punishment etc.

In our under third world barbaric country- going to a secondary school is a privilege not for everyone especially boarding school. It takes alot of bribes to get to a decent school in Ghana be it elementary or university.

As far as I know there is no honor code court in any of Ghana's institutions so when one is caught doing something that is seen as bad in a teacher's personal eyes then the punishment depends on whether the kid's father is a powerful man be it a politician or an old boy's or a member of the teaching staff, etc.

In short if you're going to do away with corporal punishment make sure there are written codes for which the students are duly notified and also the punishment should be coded as well without any partiality or consideration with respect to the kid's status or the status of his background etc.

And I can testify to the fact that all the allegations are very true.The Headmistress is no respecter of persons, and runs the school at her own satisfaction. and that Senior Housemaster is one that I really respected during my stay at Labone until he deliberately slapped a student right in front of me . It was drawn to my notice that He was a retired or perhaps a resigned Military Officer Which gave does not even give him the right to Slap any student. I am willing to be a witness if this issue is sent to court. All the Slaps and abuses must stop. This is not the only time he has slapped a student, it’s like his daily routine and when he does that students are scared to report him.#JusticeforMasterAbrahamSambou.

Good evening parents.

Unfortunately the name of our school is in the media again. This time not for award but for the negative reasons.

We the leadership of Labone SHS Parents Association were surprised at the turn of events.

The sister of the student did not inform the PTA before going to the media. We were only served with a copy of the petition yesterday.

As it stands now, our preliminary investigations into the matter reveals that the student (Abraham Sambou) was caught using mobile phone which was breach of school rules and regulations.

The student was therefore to be deboardinized as his punishment he was asked to provide the contact of the parents to come for him.

Instead of the parents coming for him, the sister who works with New Times Corporation came to plead with the Headmistress who asked her to go with the boy and come later.

During the interrogations, the student denied ever using mobile phone. So the Headmistress told the student that if it were to be her(headmistress)own son lying she could have used her slippers on him because she hates people who speaks lies.

As for the Senior Housemaster, he admitted that he actually squeezed the students cheeks when he refused to provide the contact numbers of the parents.

We the PTA executives are highly disappointed with the turn of events. The twist and turns around this case is very unfortunate.

We know of the headmistress' motherly care for all students. We know of her high professional attributes when it comes to handling such issues. We the PTA are privileged to witness adjudication of some extreme cases of students indiscipline and breakage of rules in the school which were later resolved amicably.

Please let's be careful how we handle such cases.
●if the student's sister wants the Senior Housemaster or Headmistress transferred, won't there be other people in those positions?
Please let's not forget that the student will still need the tutelage of others in order to write his WASSCE 2024.

We therefore condemn this action taken by the sister (Raissa Ebu ) of the Master Abraham. We actually don't know why such false publication.

Meanwhile information reaching my quarters is that the publisher of the above falsehood against the headmistress is showing remorse by begging dignitaries to plead with the Headmistress for her an acceptable actions but the headmistress has rejected the plea and rather pushing for defamation charges against Madam Raissa Ebu the publisher of those false statements.
