  Ghana can't break free from external aid when the country has a beggar President Akufo-Addo falsely singing "Ghana Beyond Aid" while constantly begging for external alms. Ghana, like most African countries, is independent only on paper. Even embassies in the country ae constantly making "donations" to the country or other institutions in the country, with Ghanaians loudly singing praises of the donor embassies. When begging trickles from the top on down, Ghana can't help be remain dependent on external aid. When vision-less thieving political leaders engage in looting of Ghana's assets and resources and then left with no money to fund public projects, the only way out is to resort to external sources for aid or loans. And when these loans have been made to Ghana, those loans too often get misused or diverted for personal use, and a vision-less President can do is to ask the foreign donor countries for loan forgiveness, another form of external aid dependence. Only a strong and concerned Opposition in Parliament can force the hand of government to do the right thing since voters often don't have the ears of the government after casting their votes.

  Who's is this man's allegiance to? Ghana or Great Britain? Being a member of the british establishment which has thwarted the progress of Ghana for centuries and at the same time advising your Ghana to break free from external aid dependence is nothing but the highest form of hypocrisy.

Until then, count yourself as a country with all the natural resources but a beggar and a dependant on foreign aid to survive. God have mercy on Mother Ghana
