Now onto the main story and the notion that Nkrumah wanted to turn the country into a one party state, would that be wrong even if it was true, considering that Ghana was developing faster and more rapidly than any country on the continent (African continent)? Look at Libya under Gaddafi, look at China, look at Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Africa under the Apartheid White regime, even though they were thieves and illegal settlers. I would rather be prouder if Ghana was like Dubai and there was no democracy than the situation we find ourselves in now - having democracy but poor and suffering.

It is trite knowledge that the one who leads the expedition names the discovery after himself. Other members get their due mention. The thing is that no matter how they twist or turn it, fry or roast it, grill or saute it, toast or smoke it, the legendary Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah has beautifully, magnificently and immaculately resurrected in front of the OAU headquarters in Addis Ababa. This was not done at the behest of the Osagyefo or indeed Ghana. If that alone does not enlighten you about the pre-eminence of Nkrumah then I don't know what will. Simply put, Osagyefo is the primus inter pires among all the leaders of the time and towers over and above all of them I'm stature and is light years ahead of them in thinking.

It was between Mandela and Nkrumah. But Nkrumah was selected because of his passion for Africa unity although he was faulted for being ambitious and caused the pain of other leaders.
