What we need to do is leave the organization of the Hajj completely in the hands of the Chief Imam and the Muslim community and everyone who goes on the Hajj pays his own way and all costs. Ghana is too poor to shoulder costs of private indulgencies. Religion is a private affair and everything connected to that including Hajj and pilgrimages must be private.

Taxpayers are not paying the people in Government to discuss private adventures.
besides all these type of unnecessary travels cost the country and reduce it GDP - which could also results the high rise of Cedi/ dollar rates and cause inflation.
The question we must ask ourself is
1. those spending millions of cedes for this pilgrimage how much money have they able to contribute to the national GDP per annum ? because though it is a private journey with their own money- it has an adverse direct consequence on the rate of our currency.
