The vehicles were mechanically fit for the purpose. But note that vehicle manufacturers such Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, VW, etc. do produce vans while second or third party fit in the other accessories such as ambulance equipments, bullet proof, towing, etc. to the specifications of the buyer and in locations of their choice, presence.

The difference between NDC's and NPP's ambulances are that, NDC wanted the fittings to be done in Ghana to create local content jobs, train Ghanaians on the job as to how ambulances are assembled in Ghana and save money (foreign currency) as well. Contrary to NPP and for political propaganda, they resorted in buying from a 3rd party at very higher added on costs as well as denying the Ghanaian the opportunity to get the on the job training component as to how to fit, assemble ambulances ourselves as a country without relying on 3rd party foreign countries such as United Arab Emirates (Dubai) is specialising now.

Comparatively, the NDC ambulances would have costed less than half of NPP ambulances if the drawn down formula had been followed through. Besides the quality guarantee and assurance would have been far better and well monitored than it has been done haphazardly now.

Have u read that the ones brought in by the new government were also the same Benz model and type in the same "empty "condition like the Jakpa type?? Have you read that the new ones were kept at the port for 1 year until the 3rd party company brought in its technical men to retrofit with the other accessories which arrived separately from the so called "empty " buses??? Apparently you missed the paragraph in the article stating that,,,... THE NPP AMBULANCES STOOD AT THE PORT FOR A WHOLE YEAR BEFORE A third part company took over with the equipments....

You have also deliberately missed out the fact that, the first 50 Ambulances shipped into Ghana by the previous Government were being partly equipped, but not yet completed, that's why they were not YET FULLY HANDED OVER TO THE GOVERNMENT OF GHANA,,,, Japka mentioned it in his assertion about he consulting the then new Health Minister of the current Government for continuation of the proceedings of the already available or shipped Ambulances, BUT THE EVIL AND DIABOLIC NEW GOVERNMENT ( NPP ) REFUSED TO CONTINUE WITH THE PROCEEDINGS of the shipped Ambulances and rather went to spend our taxpayers money on the very same empty Mercedes Benz Vans while the already shipped ones are left to rot at the port for almost 8 years now.

As a matter of fact, the current NPP GOVERNMENT should equally be sued for causing financial losses to the state through abandonment of already shipped Ambulances.

This is sick, how our resources ( taxpayers money ) are being wasted because of politics ...
