  What AKUFFO ADDO's politically motivated and shamefully shambolic FREE SHS BULLSHIT which is FREE OF KNOWLEDGE ANYWAY, needs is review and not legislation. This last minute gasp to survive will never happen. What the NDC must do is to push for a review before legislation. If that fails, they should support it and find a way around it for a revision when they come to power. It's a political trap.

  He MUST instruct ALL the NPP Communicators to drum the following message into the minds of the electorate: Anyone who is planning to vote for JOHN MAHAMA & NDC must start saving money to pay their children’s/wards’ school fees because JOHN MAHAMA & NDC will abolish the FREE EDUCATION program if they should come to power. Remind the public that in the past, NDC promised to keep NPP programs but when they came to power they broke their promise and abolished or damaged those functioning NPP programs (Give specific examples). Tell adults who have no children and so don’t care about the FREE EDUCATION program to also start saving money because they might be required to pay school fees for their nephews & nieces, etc. when NDC abolishes the FREE EDUCATION program. Similarly, anyone who is currently receiving a government cash ALLOWANCE must also start saving money because NDC will abolish all allowances if they should win power! EXPERT SPEAKERS SUCH AS KWAMENA DUNCAN, ABRONYE DC, OWUSU BEMPAH (ABOA PAPOO), NANA AKOMEA, NANA B, CHAIRMAN WONTUMI, etc, must drum this message into the minds of the electorate…..that they stand to lose A LOT if they vote for JOHN MAHAMA & NDC in the coming election.

  True True, in view of the economic damage inflicted on Ghana by Akufo Addo and his economic whiz kid, Bawumia all right thinking Ghanaians with common sense will come to conclusion that the economy needs re-setting which should start with review of all the things you’ve listed in your comment prioritising the need to prevent Ghana from going bankrupt if not there already. Teachers and nurses in tertiary education should be taking loans for their studies just like all other tertiary students in Ghana. The money recouped will then be invested in expansion of health and education facilities to provide them with jobs. How many of the qualified nurses who took the allowances have left Ghana bcos they could not get jobs at the end of their allowance funded education?

  Don't be an idiot. The whole concept of the free SHS is an imperative in the constitution of Ghana. Mahama initiated the implementation of this policy and Nana Addo commended him at the time. How then does Mahama seek to abolish a policy he invested heavily in? It is trite knowledge that the implementation of the free SHS policy by this government was poorly thought out and badly managed. Naturally, the NDC, when they have the chance, will revert to the original plan outlined in the original free SHS policy roadmap. You don't need formal education to grasp this. Stop making an ass of yourself and your paymasters.

  Please go and get good background information on free SHS implementation plans started in 2014 and it wasn’t under Akufo Addo. Progressive education which included free education from Basic to Tertiary level was Nkrumah’s project. It continued under successive govts dependent on the state of the country’s economy at any given time. Akufo Addo, for political expediency used free SHS as his policy and hastened the implementation started in 2014 to the detriment of the economy. It needs review and reset to prevent the country going bankrupt, if not already!

  Careful people. Akufo Addo's only accomplishment after a barrage of promises might also be a scam. Here is a policy he has refused to review even after all stakeholders agreed to. A proud man's legacy cannot serve the nation's interest.

  The progressive education started by Nkrumah does not need any law to protect it. The progression up to free education for all children from basic to tertiary education is dependent on the economic conditions of the state at any given time. This is why it is being implemented in the stages that it has been since the introduction by Nkrumah and continued to Mahama’s Presidency when he began the preparations for the implementation of free SHS. It is not anyone’s legacy to be protected by law. These people must grow up and stop their wasteful activities, they are sinking the nation into the cathedral hole that they dug up!

  This is why NDC is going to lose this elections. They have neither alternative policy nor commitment to protect current policies. FreeSHS has directly or indirectly benefitted every Ghanaian. It's human to cry that times are hard; even people in countries that we look up to have their own cries. No one will ever be satisfied or free of needs. But, imagine how it would be if in the face of the hardship you had to pay fees for your brother, sister, son, daughter, or extended family member. Imagine our time when you could be sent home for nonpayment of fees. NDC will say freeSHS has no quality. Yet, their own flagbearer enjoyed Nkrumah's free education. FreeSHS must be protected even if it means cutting the pay of government appointees to save it. FreeSHS is one of the best ways of equitable distribution of national wealth whiles building the future generations. I don't understand why we can give royal treatment to politicians and pay them ex-gratia on top of that but cannot pay three-year SHS fees for every Ghanaian child. I salute Akufo-Ado for this policy.
