We need to change our mindset in Ghana, regarding obtaining a degree from a higher institution of learning. What this graduate is doing is a practical application of his degree, and not "ditching" his degree. Because he is not working in an office he is being seen as ditching his degree and that's very sad to have that mindset. Graduates with entrepreneurial mindset need to be celebrated.

The entire article is shallow to say the least. He 'ditched his academic qualifications to sell beads"?! So by this article's logic, this man is supposed to be in an office working (hopefully at one of the Ministries) because he has a degree. He should wear a suit and tie to work everyday because he has a degree. Anything but make and sell beads, because he has a degree. This is why Ghana won't progress.

This is the kind of mindset prevalent in Ghana: ENTITLEMENT!!! Because he graduated from a university he is entitled to a peculiar kind of job. If he doesn't then he is jobless. If he employs himself which is the best thing to do, then his education is useless. Ironically, he is rather well educated. May our youth not sit and get rotten. They should shine their eyes and take the old careers and polish them to their advantage.
