Check the top 10 countries on the list Ghana is the only developing country meaning there is something wrong with our discipline. The other 9 countries are all developed which would demand more engagement around London.

Ghana should not pay a penny to TFL. Diplomats have the right to drive to any part of London in pursuant of their diplomatic duties. The congestion charge prevents them from doing that. This is illegal!!

  • Zoroaster 1 year ago

Ohemeng, are you mad..???? Do you own the city of London? Are you the only High Commission in that city? Nasty fool... are you the one who will define what is legal to the British? The impudence....

  • JJ 1 year ago

Then The Ghana government should charge the British £5.9m for driving on our roads in Ghana. Can we have the balance of £1m please

Zoroaster,I repeat to you that Ghana will not pay a penny of the amount demanded by TFL. If the TFL has the power to take our embassy to court it can do so.Our embassy operates under the Geneva convention ,period.

The amount is too much to believe. This is not true

This congestion charge was taken as a tax and foreign consulates don't pay tax. How did Ghana get to owe such amounts? When the congestion charges started it was US consulate who protested initially that they don't pay tax so ...

I believe the charges varies with the location of the embassy edifice and the number of vehicles that the embassy uses and the number of hours an embassy openy per day.

If the embassy is sensible enough, they would opt for the electric cars instead. That's what others do. Electric cars don't attract ULEZ and congestion charge. Simple

  • Earl Jones 1 year ago

It is a tax and Ghana embassy must do well to ignore it or set up a similar one in Accra
