  What about Jesus who was betrayed by Judas and we also keep betraying by claiming we're Christians yet living in sin? And please remember that someone somewhere probably has the same accusation against you?

  Everyone.I repeat everyone will experience painful betrayal at least a few times during their lifetime .They will get betrayed by either friends, workmates or family. Betrayal is worst when it comes from very close family. Strong families where members are of a noble character tend to show great loyalty towards each other. The pain due to betrayal by a close family is like no other. It happens with spouses (most commonly due to infidelity). It happens with siblings, parents, children and other blood relatives. For example some family members may habitually disparage another family member (who may be guilty or not guilty) to outsiders. This is called the "Ham" treatment and can have serious spiritual consequences .Remember the story of Ham and Noah in the Bible? Good or loyal family members cover over or protect a vulnerable or failing family member. That is not the same as covering up a family member's criminal or evil conduct.
  LOYAL FRIENDS, LOYAL FAMILY MEMBERS NEVER ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE BY GOSSIPING ABOUT OTHERS.
  Not so long ago I listened with disgust to a gentleman I used to respect basically publicize his own sister's many failings at a party gathering .The worst part was that many of those present knew his sister reasonably well. Just last year he was himself caught up in a financial scandal at his work place and suspended. Now he has become the main topic of discussion in the same circle of friends. He was fired in a highly publicized manner just a few months after his suspension. HE IS PROBABLY NOW UNEMPLOYABLE IN HIS PARTICULAR PROFESSION. IT DOESN'T PAY TO ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE OF GOSSIP. BE AN HONOURABLE PERSON WHO PUTS OUT FIRES BY REFUSING TO JOIN GOSSIP EVEN IF THE ALLEGATIONS ARE TRUE AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE BLESSED.DO NOT DESTROY A FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND OR EVEN A MERE ACQUAINTANCE OR STRANGER THROUGH YOUR TONGUE OR IT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU IN VERY UNEXPECTED WAYS.
