This so-called democracy has failed in Ghana, clearly for all to see. It's not the democracy Plato talked about. To become a president today depends on the political links of your dad or mom. Who gives birth to you determines whether you become an MP, minister or president. Check all of them. Asiedu Nketiah's son, Rawlings daughter, Mahama, Bawumiah, Nana Addo, Bartel's daughter, etc, all led or are leading because of family political links and history. That is a new form of monarchy. Family-based determination of who becomes a political leader in Ghana amasing wealth for family. That is not democracy. It's a mirage. It's a cartel. Is this better than the monarchy we have in Asantehene? Absolutely not. Asantehene cannot be corrupt as our politicians. Why would he steal from his own people? Doesn't make sense. He already sits on the sikadwa. He has no need to bribe anyone. We need that monarchy back or something based on it back. This western style democracy in Ghana is a failure and breeds tribalism and corruption in the midst of poverty. It's as if the Europeans engineered this bad democracy for us, pulling different tribes together to create a modern Babel. Otumfour holds the power to reset Ghana. Demand and declare AUTONOMY for Ashanti, autonomy for Gas, autonomy for Ewes, autonomy for Dagombas, etc. We can then structure something at a national level to ensure our mutual interest such as joint international engagement or joint legal system. The current system where half of the population is always against the government because party and tribal divisions is not sustainable or conducive for development. You will never have a situation of half Ashantis against Otumfour, and that fosters owned development.

then
advice the political animals to first respect the laws of the land,
to sanitise their doings,
make corruption a taboo in the government institutions
stop milking the state funds

if we see all these things been cleared and cleaned
then
we have no reason to go to the KINGS palace to seek any redress,
then the people would use the institutions for whatever issues they have.
as it stand now my friend I am afraid, we can't do away with the monarchisms.
The only credible institution Ghana could run to is the Asanti KINGDOM . where blue would be told it is blue, and Red would be classified as Red.

People are desperate to pour enormous resources into his kingdom because they trust him and not these tribal politicians to handle their resources. He should speed it up. Surely, there should be an autonomous Ashanti before the next elections and possibly exclude Ashantis from voting because we have our own autonomous area. The new government of Ghana shouldn't have control over Ashanti. We should encourage the Ga Mantse to do the same for Gas. The Ewes too should get their own autonomy. We have to do away with the current tribal political system and calculations.

Most of the people reside in the rural communities where illiteracy is endemic and for that matter calls for vibrant literacy programmes. Illiteracy is much greater not only at the rural communities but also among its women populace and children who have dropped out of school.

Regionally, women and men in Greater Accra and Ashanti have the highest levels of education.

Aside the greater Accra region which is smaller in size, ASHANTI region have the highest LITERACY RATE IN GHANA!
