In advanced countries they don't highlight grades as achievement though. In the U.S. the GPA glory ends the day you step out of grade school. They won't even put a class on your masters diploma. Anything from 3.0 to 4.0 is required to graduate and will go in the same basket. Below 3.0 you are sacked! In the job market, the employer won't consider GPA but your overall professional development. However, high GPA will give you the edge in PhD applications and scholarships.
