Import duties are always charged in cedis. Not in dollars. Import duties are charged on value of goods imported. Since, the value is in foreign currency, it needs to be converted in cedis before the duties are charged.

What is been said is what exist now. To the extend that goods are imported, the value definately have to be changed into cedis before the duty.

The duties are already flat rate. The problem at the port is somany cascading taxes, some of which were introduced recently under this government.

So who is harassing who?
The flat rate will not make any sense if the cedis keeps depreciating. This man will see his smoothness level in December election so keep deceiving yourself.
