The level of indifference to the filth and squalor around is quite shocking. The MMDA's have completely neglected their environmental mandate especially in Accra. Plastic waste generated by hawkers, squatters and itinerant immigrant beggars especially, have engulfed the whole city. Road medians are overgrown with weeds and brush, drains are cluttered with waste, right in the middle of the city. It is one big mess.
