It’s not about Dumsor or anything. It’s about bill sharing and payments. The Kajetia Market was poorly built. The market was not structured competently. The various traders were grouped according to what they sell but what they refused to understand is that some of them default on the electricity bill payments, but since various traders are put under one meter you can’t close the shops by identifying the deadbeat consumers and disconnect their power supply accordingly, since various traders share one meter and according to what they sell. So right now the market owes the Electricity Company several hundred of thousands or perhaps millions of Cedis, The government of Akuffo-Addo should be absolved from every blame under this circumstances. Now: instead of going after the Kumasi Metropolitan Authority, some NDC members in the market went under the cover of the night to stage that nonsense! Why did they stage the demonstration in the night? It means they are afraid that the market management will fish them out and punish them for bringing politics into something that should be apolitical!
