2nd, is it an afterthought, to douse the controversy, that the girl is married to the deity but not the person of the Wulomo? Initially the argument to defend the child betrothal was the example of Joseph and Mary. They added that she wouldn't perform any conjugal intimacy until she is of age. I was supporting this based on her spiritual duties but now I'm not convinced. This is child marriage. Does the Rev Minister who doubles as Administrator also Minister of God's church and representing the interest of the deity? Case of serving two masters: he will like one and hate the other.

I respectfully ask the Gborbu Wulomo- Shitse and his elders whether this girl will be allowed to marry a man of her choice when she attains the legal or constitutionally allowed marriage age of 18 years. If the answer is "no", it will give credence to the allegation that a minor has ( per Ghana's laws) been illegally married off to a 63 year old Gborbu Wulomo- Shitse, in the name of tradition. The constitution of Ghana and its associated laws take precedence over any traditional or religious belief or rite. The goal-shifting about who is actually married to the minor ( i.e., the Gborbu Wulomo or the Gborbu Deity) is not helping this important discussion focussed on helping a minor and other children like her to be accorded their full human rights.
