When the senior ranking military officers didn't know what else to think about after reinventing themselves over and over again with corruption and over-indulgence in the mess with ladies, most of whose breasts could enter Kutu Acheampong's mouth (Qualification criterion), they decided to order many cars having refrigerators and TVs in very comfortable upholsterers in them following ordering different assorted canned rice and fried turkeys and chicken! And these vehicles actually arrived in the country for the use of those wasteful officers.
I was around Kokompe, Tema when the goods arrived and port boys stole a huge bunch of cartons of them, hurtling in frenzy to hide them near the Mankoadze Roundabout, around which housed several fitting shops within the shrubs. We watched them hide the boxes then stole some from them. Most of those cans had the Ghana flag decorating them.
The decision to get Acheampong and Co came from Boakye Gyan who never denied it. In actual fact, he shortlisted over 150 officers for Teshie and Jerry beat the figures down saying "Shooting them wouldn't solve any problem", despite mulishly taking responsibility for them. Gyan had a personal score to settle with some of those officers including Afrifa.
