I always say that, when wise and well educated people speak, they make knowledge very attractive. Thank you, Lawyer Martin Kpebu, for the insight you brought to bear on this issue. I really doff my hat for you. And i know some people will brand you a gay or whatever but do not be perturbed. What country at all is this? And how has such a beautiful country fallen into the hands of brainless and incompetent lawmakers? That law makers do not understand or do not respect the legal institutions in the country? How on earth could parliament, a so-called law making body force the president to go ahead and sign a bill which is a subject of a suit pending before a competent court of jurisdiction? And if the president goes ahead to sign the bill, and the position of the plaintiffs are upheld by the court, what happens next? Is parliament there to satisfy the whims and caprices of a political party that is hungry for power or to unbiasedly work within the ambit of the constitution? Infact I am not getting it. If the bill has no challenges pending at the law court, then the president is liable and could be impeached for failing to satisfy a constitutional demand. And if Akufo Addo goes ahead to sign the bill as it stands now, what precedence is he setting? Bagbin and all those behind this shit should rather pile pressure on the court, if they think they have that power to pressure the court , to sit and make a determination on the suit brought about against the bill. The bill has been passed. A Private full-blooded Ghanaian has gone to court to challenge the bill. The court is yet to sit on the case and Bagbin and his cohorts want the president to ignore the pending suit and go ahead and sign the bill into law. What nonsense is that? Is the LGBTQ bill the most pressing issues facing Ghana? This a case of a misplaced priority. Shame unto Bagbin and his followers! There should be no mad rush about this bill. The court will sit and decide and Akudfo-Addo will do the needful at the bright time.
