Qualified historians should be invited to tell these stories. Some outstanding ones are dead now but their publications are there. Ivor Wilks, for example. His presentation of the Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lectures of 1995 atthe Great Hall, Legon, makes nonsense all that is said about the origins of the Asantes here. Those who became Asantes were not different from other Akans, some of who became the subjects of Denkyira and rebelled against their King. Denkyiras also became Asantes in the new polity, except those who fled and settled among the Tongus, etc.
