The money would be nothing but loot. Already passengers are paying for the upkeep of the airport through airline fares. They only have to learn to manage well.

If the Uk, Germany or any European govt wants to introduce $120 at their airport, The Ghana man will pay without thinking about it..Same Ghanaian government will complain of just $20 fee just to maintain airport in his own country..and we wonder why and how we are not able to compete with those countries..recently the Uk Govt raised visa fees for Africans to 120%, the foolish Ghanaian couldn’t utter a word on social media because the average Ghana Man wants to travel to the Uk so bad that even if they ask him to pay 10billion dollars as visa fee, he is willing to obey..A country that complains about everything cannot progress..personally I was expecting people to ask for accountability of those money that’s being paid..we have politicians who are interested in power, we don’t have leaders in power in Ghana..real leadership stick to their rules and regulations..if a leader is suspending something that will be necessary and be beneficial to the country because of petty complains, then He is not a leader..We need firm leadership

Transparency and Accountability is the bane of African countries. The taxes already being paid and collected are not judiciously being used. That is why the people are complaining that GACL is already collecting so much and no need to impose another tax on the traveller.

We can all see the difference in how taxes are used in Western countries and how taxes are used in African.

Philippines for example, supports nurses with not only the education but the necessary documents to travel easily to places like Canada and work. You request for a document from that country to further your education or better your life here and see what they will do to you. Is it only those abroad who must develop Ghana? Already how much do we give as remittances? Yet, we have no voice in the political system to decide who becomes president. How will you hold those people accountable? We are just milking cows with no support from the country whatsoever. Even if it is a dollar self, I won’t pay. You can volunteer to pay since you love the country more than us. You can even donate your salary to them to fix the belt.
