Listen, in Ghana, there is birth and death registry in every district, but the fact is Ghanaians don't care to look for or ask for it to register their newborn children.

My first child was born in a town in Ghana and the next day, I went to birth and death registry office to register her to get her birth certificate. That is how it is. Ghanaians are too lazy to do something. They want the president to do everything for them which is absolutely foolishness.

Birth and death registry is under local government meaning, their offices are located in every district in Ghana, but few Ghanaians know about it.

That said, this new initiative will help but trust me, some lazy Ghanaians will overlook it.

The baby National card will be given to the parents before they leave the hospital. That is the same thing done in the US. That's why Ghanaians who are well to do when they are pregnant and is time to have the baby travels to US and Europe to deliver the baby. In this way the babies automatically become citizens. No one can ever change your identity and your date of birth. Football age will no longer exist. Because embassies and institutions will be demanding the National Identity card There will no longer 25 years old entering the university and security institutions as 18 years.

If you have Ghana card, try to get a new one and see the outcome. Ghana now has a database which had captured all those with Ghana card information. Any attempt to get around it will result an arrest. Try it.
