Why should an MP and a deputy minister of State be driven on road from Kumasi to Accra in a critical state? Such a distance on a dilapidated stretch of road capable of killing anyone in a critical health condition. As naturally endowed as we are as a country, our health sector is such a mess that we don't even have an Air ambulance, our leaders have served us deliberately with hospitals for the poor so they hurriedly travel to seek better medicare abroad. How wicked can our failed leaders be? Just how sad can't it be if you are a citizen in this country knowning too well your health care is sub-par. My goodness!!!

It takes a quick intervention by doctors to save a life.So why didn't John Kumah ask to be driven in his plush V8 but waited for the privilege of ordering MPs special ambulance from Accra? it takes anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours for a stroke to kill without the appropriate immediate care. Someone was busy arranging for Tickets to Germany but no one could rush the dying man from Ejisu to Kumasi in 30 minutes in a distance of 15 kilometers.

The country lacks good hospitals, roads , educational facilities, good source of water supply and adequate power supply yet this useless government of Akuffo Addo is so adamant to build a national cathedral with millions of dollars.
It is so sad that a deputy minister of State who was so fragile had to be transported by road to be stabilized prior to being flown to Germany for medical treatment.
If Ghana had an emergency air ambulance, this man could have been flown to Accra instead of traveling by road. Looking at the condition of our roads , the stress of the journey could have contributed to his demise. If it is true that he was so sick to travel by air from Kumasi to Accra , then why anyone think that he could survive the flight from Accra to Germany with a transit in Amsterdam. If our leaders have prioritize the healthcare system, this man could have been taken to Komfo Anokye hospital which is supposed to be one of elite hospitals to be medically stable before flying out of the country. It looks like some of our leaders are now seeking medical treatment abroad because they have neglected to put resources into our own medical institutions to make them at par with the ones abroad that they run to .
Ghana can do better but our leaders have failed us .
