  The staff of GRA should be empowered and employ serious, dedicated and hardworking employees, officers, managers, directors, similar to HMRC in the Uk or IRS in US to chase after and collect all taxes. This can never be outsourced. It is a strategic organ of State the GRA with Ministerial and Parliamentary oversight. GRA's work is too important and key to Ghana and must be run by the GRA organisation itself, never outsource the Source of Money. The idea is diabolical, that GRA needs supervision to collect taxes???? Big question mark Ghana. The State has failed.

  That's the problem. They were having the power to collect the revenue but due to corruption and selfishness, they accept bribes and allow the pepertrators to do their own thing whilst looking at the wrong places.

  What SML is doing for Government of Ghana for that matter Ghanaians is amazing. Let all of us remember that no one enjoys paying the right taxes. SML together with GRA are doing their best for Ghana.
  What we heard on radio is not what some of us have seen. The state of the Art equipment used by SML for the downstream petroleum audit is second to none. Accuracy is the keyword. We must embrace it in order to increase revenue for Ghana. In real time, quantity of fuel in our depots are known (what comes in and goes out is seen without the use of stick to check volumes as it is done at our filling stations)
  Before the coming of SML, this did not exist.
  Well done GRA and SML and the Government of Ghana. This is an asset. Long live SML, long live GRA for this state of the art technology.
  If we don't know the volume of fuel that goes out, how do we determine the taxes to be paid?
  The real time readings is also matched with the hard copy waybills given to the tanker drivers when they load out.
  Imagine the volume stated on the waybills together for the day is 100,000 litres, but the volume read in real time by SML is 120,000 litres. How do we account for the 20,000 litres if SML was not present? This is just one example.

  Rightly said by the Honorable, SML deserves applause. Propaganda kills good initiatives. Collaboration with GRA to achieve desired results is what Ghana needs.

  Where was Atta Kyea and the Parliament’s Energy and Mines Committee b4 KPMG was called in after the Fourth Estate’s revelations? Atta Kyea is trying to influence KPMG’s findings by rushing to Tema with his ‘absent’ committee members and coming out now with his prejudicial praise for SML prior to any report from KPMG. What’s in this for Atta Kyea? After all he is existing Parliament at end of this session, is he being lined up for some job by the mother serpent of all corruption if he sabotages the KPMG’s findings? Thieves everywhere, Ghana is doomed
