  USING LOCAL RICE FOR SCHOOL FEEDING WILL NOT ONLY HELP OUR BOTTOM LINE BUT WILL HELP LOCAL PRODUCERS AND ALSO HELP CONSERVE FOREIGN RESERVE.THIS IS A GREAT IDEA.

  These idiots in government can tell Ghanaians to wear traditional clothes, but they have sense to know how important it is to poend tax payers money on locally grown products to feed students.This isn't something that local rice producers should be crying out for before the government can act, this is something that any government with an ounce of common ought to know and be implementing without being told by the public. This government will rather deceive Ghanaians about the worthless degrees that their thieving leaders possess, and they can't seem to see what most Ghanaians see.

  I agree with you. However, the quality of locally-produced rice can only improve if the government that is spending to purchase that rice demands that rice all rice sold to the public must meet certain quality specifications. All those found to be selling rice with foreign objects in them should be cited and fined by the FDA. Regular and unannounced inspections of rice sold at various markets should be carried out to ensure compliance. Renowned Ghana dentist Shatta Bandle doesn't appreciate rice sellers who continue to sell rice with stones that can damage the teeth of school children and members of the general public.
